Anchovy Bandit x Mysterious Mr Black - Tasting Australia

Anchovy Bandit’s executive chef Shane Wilson and head chef Michael ‘Hendo’ Henderson will join forces with The Mysterious Mr Black to bring you a long lunch experience cooked over fire.

Though this trio may take their food and wine seriously – this doesn’t ring true when it comes to themselves. This Tasting Australia Event will see the Bandit team take over Charlie Black’s Barossa winery and bring his character filled tin shed to life.

Settle in for a rolling four-course menu showcasing both Barossa producers and ingredients. Keep an eye out for something Mysterious on the menu...

Each dish will be paired with wines made by Charlie Black and guests are invited to have a chat with Charlie about all things wine and all things whimsical. Charlie does love a chat.

The Mysterious Mr Black is a Barossa based winemaker known for his use of small batch lauded fruit that is destined for its small batch wines. The romantic dance between grape and facilitator is never compromised. Sourced from the same vineyards each year allowing for seasonal variance and the sub-regionality to shine – Mr Black’s range offers complexity, depth, length, balance and enjoyment

Shane Wilson’s culinary credits include Bistro Dom, The Henry Austin and Hentley Farm. Joining Anchovy Bandit in 2020 he has transformed the Bandit menu and his nod to traditional Italian food, with revolutionary flavour combinations as his trademark. All while he subtly champions the potential in native produce. One can never know what Wilson could come up with next.
